Once upon a time, there lived a good man named Abram. God loved Abram and said to him, 'Leave your country and go to a land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great.'

Abram trusted God. He packed his tents and took his wife Sarai and his nephew Lot. They traveled far away to a new land called Canaan.

God said to Abram, 'Look at the stars in the sky. Can you count them? Your family will be as many as the stars!' Abram believed God, and God was very happy with him.

But Abram and Sarai had no children. They were very old. Sarai was 90 years old! God said, 'I will give you a son. His name will be Isaac.'

One day, three visitors came to Abram's tent. Abram was kind and gave them food and water. The visitors said, 'Next year at this time, Sarai will have a baby boy!'

Sarai laughed inside because she was so old. But God asked, 'Is anything too hard for the Lord?'

Just as God promised, Sarai had a baby boy. They named him Isaac, which means 'laughter.' Now Abram's name was changed to Abraham, which means 'father of many nations.'

Abraham, Sarah (her new name), and baby Isaac were so happy. God always keeps His promises!
