Manic Monday Lyrics The Bangles

The song Manic Monday Lyrics The Bangles. It is also their only song to reach the top 10 in the United Kingdom, peaking at number three on the UK Singles Chart.

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
My I don't have to run day
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
My I don't have to run day
It's just another manic Monday

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down
He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
(When you're having fun)

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
My I don't have to run day
It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
It's just another manic Monday

Manic Monday Lyrics The Bangles, "Manic Monday" is a song by the American pop rock band The Bangles, and the first single released from their second studio album, Different Light (1986).

The song was written by Prince, using the pseudonym "Christopher" (sometimes erroneously listed as "Christopher Thomas" or "Christopher Rogers"), and was the group's first song to enter the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, it peaked at number two for two weeks in August 1986, behind "Papa Don't Preach" by Madonna and ahead of "Glory of Love" by Peter Cetera.

The song became the band's second U.S. top ten hit, and was also their first U.K. top ten hit, peaking at number two. In the U.S., it was kept from the number one spot by "Kiss" by Prince and the Revolution. The song's lyrics describe a woman who is waking up to go to work on Monday, wishing it was still Sunday and that she could, instead, stay in bed.

The song was featured in the film Clueless (1995) and was included in the soundtrack of the television series Cold Case. In the U.S., "Manic Monday" was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales/shipments of over 500,000 units. In 2001, the song was covered by British singer Mandy Moore for the soundtrack to the film Prince Charming.
